The Duchess of Sussex- Meghan Markle stepped out in public for her last assignment of the year before the Christmas break.
Meghan was out visiting Brinsworth House, which is a nursing and care home for British entertainers run by the Royal Variety Charity. Meghan had a tour of the home and be the part of some craft making activities.
The Duchess of Sussex proudly showed off her growing baby bump, among her fellow actors, she discussed with them and got into the festive spirit.
Meghan’s delivery is due in spring this year, so we may expect an even bigger belly for the next time we see her.
“Very good.”- She replied when asked by a resident “how she was?” she further added: “Very pregnant.”- After pausing, and putting her hand on her belly and laughing.
Her fans are curious, why is the baby bump so high though?
Well, old granny’s tales tell us carrying a baby high or low tells the baby’s gender, in this case, which would mean she is carrying a baby girl. This is only a myth though.
Moreover, the Vice President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Professor Steve Robson, told the Huffington Post. “It’s clear to say that a child’s genitals have nothing to do with how the woman’s body looks when she is pregnant. The way a woman carries a baby has more to do with the size of the baby.”
The professor added: “If the baby is smaller, it is more likely to be lower in the pelvis, so a baby that is larger than average is more likely to be higher, a smaller baby will be lower,”
The professor further explained that another cause of the high baby bump could be the mother’s body.
“When a woman carries high, her abdominal muscles are often in good shape, while lax muscles from age, previous pregnancies or decreased fitness can cause her to carry low.”-said John Thoppil, MD, assistant clinical professor of OB-GYN at Texas A&M University College of Medicine.
As we all know that Meghan likes doing yoga and watches her health critically, so her abs might be one of the reasons her baby bump is higher than usual. That’s probably the last sight we’ll get of the growing baby bump this year.
